5 Stars The best 52 inch out there
After returning a defective Samsung LN-52A550, I decided to give this a try. Bhoy I made the right decision! Ignore any contrast ratio rating by so called experts. This is the one to own. Aquos picture is the best in the business. Clarity of pictures is so amazing. So crisp on HDTV, that we can’t help on watching more blu-ray on it. I also use this as an awesome monitor while I type this review. Never again will I stray on another Korean brand like Samsung. Their quality and customer service is pathetic. I was also considering the SONY KDL-52V4100. Picture is not close to this Aquos. You have to get their XBR series to land a crisp picture compared to this Aquos.

Pros: 5Hdmi, 4ms response time . Slimmest of the bunch,3.0 Energy Certified. Amazing picture with correct setting, great design, Japanese quality, exceptional customer serice. This is Acura, Lexus of televisions

1 Star Stopped working after 6 mths
This seemed like the best deal for the size tv I wanted. I first had a problem with the delivery. I was told the tv would be set up for me as long as I had the tv stand, but the delivery men said they were not authorized to do that and just brought the box inside. After having the tv for 6 mths, the picture went out. I called the customer service # and the rep said to hold down 2 buttons at the same time. When I did this, smoke started coming out of the back of the tv. They said they would send someone out to fix it in a wk, but no one showed up. When they finally did come they said they had to order a part and would be back in a wk. It has been over a week and still have not heard from them.

5 Stars incredible
unbelievable picture. you can find calibration settings on cnet. I agree…contrast ratios are overrated….amazing picture and clarity. I also purchased the cheetah mount and had this tv on the wall in less than an hour. saved a lot of money compared to buying at bestbuy etc.

no negatives about this TV at all. I was comparing this to the Samsung and Sony V series….just got a heck of deal on this and I am not looking back.

5 Stars Husby’s New Love
All last year Husby and I looked at TV’s, compared prices, sizes and most importantly quality! Finally, he found one and he hasn’t been able to take his eyes off of it. So we have another big-screen television! Currently this TV is sitting in our bedroom while we try to figure out where to move the 46/48 inch RCA that’s currently in the living room.

Now I’m not all “technical” when it comes to TV’s. The only thing I need is for it to power on when I want it, a remote and mute if the conversation on the phone gets good. Don’t tell husby, but I’m starting to dig his newest toy. I love that it’s a flat-screen. It’ll add more room to the living room and it looks like you’re at the movies. Not to mention I can hook my PC up to it. DAMN… I can’t even imagine how that would look.

5 Stars Great TV
I bought this television after looking at all the other options out there and I am really happy with it. The screen is great and the pictures are incredible. I use this with my PS3 and the games look good and the screen works great with all the fast action of the PS3.

4 Stars Very solid 1080p LCD
I bought this TV as a second 1080p TV for my home. I am using it in my living area. The viewing angles on the TV are very impressive, I am often viewing from a tight angle and fairly far away. I am also using the built in tuner to receive the HD content, this is working quite well. The lack of 120Hz or 240Hz has not been an issue for the day to day news and TV programs we are watching.

Really the only negative thing about the TV is the start-up time. From time to time it seems to take longer to start-up. Other than that aspect, and a slightly shiner finish than I might like, no complaints so far.

5 Stars Great tv and value for the price!
I bought this television at best buy a few weeks ago, and I am incredibly happy with it. As stated by other reviewers, this is a SOLID entry level hdtv with only minor drawbacks.

Picture Quality: is GREAT. Those with INCREDIBLY picky eyes will be the ones that sit there and analyze each pixel, but the bottom line is this is a 1080p television and the blu-rays and video games I play through my PS3 (playstation 3) look fantastic. Absolutely can’t beat the quality for the price!!

Sound Quality: this is where the tv gets shaky. the sound isn’t great, just average. A different reviewer said that flat televisions don’t become flat by getting large speakers, very true. you’ll want to buy some sort of speaker system to go with the television to get that true theater experience. PERSONALLY, I just use the tv in my 10×12 room so the sound is adequate for me, but i’m still thinking of getting speakers.

Features: the tv has great black levels and colors. you will want to do alot of tweeking right out of the box because all of the factory levels are set so high. Once you get the tv to a good spot, just sit back and enjoy looking at all the cracks and crevices on people’s faces. there are some features that I don’t think do much, like “game mode” specifically, but they are nice to have.

OVERALL: If this is your first foray into the HDTV world, like it was for me, I would HIGHLY recommend this television. This is especially recommended for those of us on a budget, but wanting to make the move to HD.

5 Stars Good buy!
Good price for a 40″ 1080p LCD, save tax & $25 electronic recycle fee. I live in CA.

4 Stars Great HDTV for its price, but…
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RL6B4V365XSHF I uploaded a video of the Toshiba 40RV525R displaying some TV, Blu-Ray, and video game. (Just a small reference… obviously not going to be exactly how you see it in real life from a recorded video camera; on top of that, an internet video/low resolution/etc…)

This was my first real HDTV (supporting 1080p). Anyone can get super excited over their first HDTV and rate it a 5 star immediately (going from a standard definition to HDTV is definitely a major upgrade to anyone). However, if you’re very PICKY like me, you’ll be *somewhat* disappointed with the video quality.

If you’re like me and have been drooling over the image quality from several of the high-end HDTV models (you know, the ones that cost over $1500-$2000+), on display in retail stores — and then expecting to get the same quality out of this (okay, it was wishful thinking but you never always know just from prices…), well you’ll be disappointed.

When I see those TV, I’d be blown away like I’m seeing directly through a window instead of a TV screen. Naively, I was hoping for that same effect. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not horrible that I would want to return this TV, but “you get what you pay for”. (well, technically, it’s still a little better than what you pay for… did that make any sense?) Just keep that in mind. For the price, though, I can’t really complain so I’m keeping it.

You just won’t get that super super sharpness with this. You need to be a couple feet away; up close, for the very picky eyes, you will easily notice the grainy/fuzzy-like-paintbrush/interpolated effect (I hate this…), muddled together than every object being 100% sharp to the minute detail.

The potential of the Blu-Ray image quality is definitely not there. Animation like Wall-E / Final Fantasy Spirits Within Blu-ray looks pretty good, but I’m just not that impressed when watching Dark Knight/Iron Man/Transformers/Black Hawk Down… Again, I am picky.

The D-Sub connection for the PC is really worthless and waste of potential on the monitor; it only supports 1360×768 max. To get full 1920×1080 resolution from a PC, you first need a video card that has a DVI-out and supporting that resolution.

Second. you need a HDMI male-to-DVI male cable to connect the TV to the PC’s video card. I’m quite impressed with how PC games on this TV look at 1080; it easily beats from how games look on PS3. (The game Pure looks incredible). Definitely makes a great Media PC monitor.

Some other thoughts:

* I’m using the regular “rabbit ears” antenna and 1080i shows/channels still look pretty good with it.

* DVDs won’t look as sharp like on a standard definition. However, again, if you’re far away enough it can look okay. The contrast/blacks are definitely better/more feeling of depth in the picture.

* The speakers are average. The bass is weak, but most built-in speakers are.

* When I first turned it on, 40″ seemed really big to me. But after a couple weeks, it’s not as big as I thought. It’s good enough for a small room, but for a main TV in a large living room, you’ll soon definitely want to have something larger. The screen does reflect a little bit.

* I think it’s nice that it has 3 HDMI ports, which is more than enough for me. (PS3, PC thru HDMI)

* I really can’t tell the difference having the benefit of “game mode” on when I play games.

* I usually turn the auto contrast mode off because it’s apparent when it changes its brightness than being subtle. It’s pretty annoying.

Pros:

- Good entry level HDTV at an affordable price (I can’t believe I paid close to this amount for a small 19″ PC monitor just a few years ago… ugh technology)

- Black finish/stand Toshiba logo glows (it can also be turned off through the menu)

- Games look good. (PS3/PC at 1920)

- Excellent for a Media PC monitor (using HDMI)

Cons:

- Doesn’t look that great up close. It’s not really sharp. It seems to interpolate/very grainy “paintbrush”-like effect.

- D-Sub is essentially worthless at 1360×768 resolution (use DVI-HDMI to connect to your PC!)

Considering this isn’t Toshiba’s higher REGZA model and the price, it’s definitely a good entry level HDTV. Definitely far from a perfect 5 star, but if you’re on a budget and not overly picky like me, you should be happy with this.

I recommend getting a HDMI cable too (don’t be spending over $10 on it!)

5 Stars Love this TV
This was a great deal, I love the TV, excellant delivery person.

Thank you very much!

5 Stars Great Picture and product
I’ve got this tv now for about a month and it was easy to set up and the picture is absolutely amazing. Even the upconverted Cable channels that move up to 1080i look great (when pressing the button on the cable remote).

5 Stars Best bang for your buck
I bought this as my first HDTV for my apartment about 2 weeks ago.

While this was my first venture into HDTV, I did know what I wanted out of my HDTV and for the price, this delivers everything on my check list.

When I brought it home from my local brick and mortar, I was very happy with the setup. Installation was easy and the base is very sturdy. I will eventually buy a mount for it, but it isn’t going anywhere with the stand its on.

I will say I was decently disappointed when I plugged my cable in the first time… not what I was hoping for out of HD… luckily I knew that source is king in HD and I set out to update all of my services as I only connected with composite and coax at the moment.

I called my cable company and updated my service for near nothing, they provided me with a digital box with HDMI support. At the same time I purchased a few $0.50 1.3b HDMI cables on Amazon. Once I put everything together the picture really started showing its stuff. Even the basic cable in 480p looks 100x better with HDMI cables and the few HD channels they threw in with my package were crystal clear. This was also true for my Xbox 360, as the HDMI looked quite a bit clearer than the HD component cables that were bundled with the Pro.

With all the bells and whistles set up, I finally got to really enjoy this TV.

My BIGGEST worry was pixelization, I hate that grainy look during fast motion on a lot of HDTVs. Luckily, I don’t notice any flaw in the image. I play Call of Duty 4 pretty heavily and the quality is breathtaking. The 120hz really stands out.

Out of the box I didn’t have to adjust the settings by much at all, so I was pleased with that, too.

All and all it was a good buy for the average Joe.

5 Stars T Thompson
We purchased this item back in Feb.09 Delivery was great (CEVA) my delivery from (CEVA) arrived in a timely fashion with a great delivery man. His name was Owen .If you live in the Wash DC metro area or Baltimore surrounding area and you order from Amazon I suggest you request him for your delivery. My Tv arrived in a timely fashion but, with some infraction, but Owen told me how to take care of the issues and everything he said was true. Kudos Amazon for the great service and great delivery with CEVA. Our TV is GREAT picture quality in out of this world. We have matched it with a surround sound so I could not ask for more. Better watch out SONY (if you really are top of the line) because SHARP AQUOS is coming for you

4 Stars As good as I expected
I like everything about my new TV. I have connected to an HD Dish receiver and it works perfectly. It is realy fun to use my Wii with the TV.

5 Stars great viewing angles, great options
I am really happy with this tv. The viewing angles are great. We have lots of windows, and there is now reflection on this display’s nice matte finish. There are lots of input jacks. It plays HD from an antenna okay, and plays internet HD content very well too.

5 Stars Very happy with this TV
You are probably spending a lot of time researching TVs. I know I did. CNET’s review of the larger 46-inch model (LC46D85U), and specifically the discussion about banding and black level issues, almost scared me away from this item. But with such strong user reviews on Amazon, I took a chance and made my purchase.

CNET must have received a faulty product, because as far as I’m concerned, the TV is awesome. I calibrated the color settings as recommended by CNET and couldn’t be happier with the picture quality. Movies, TV, and video games all look amazing. My setup includes a PS3, Harman Kardon’s AV154 AV receiver, and Polk Audio’s RM6750 speaker system, and I am a happy man. My wife loves it, too!

4 Stars Really a “Sharp ” TV that is a winner !
Great clarity and all the hype of high definition rings true with this television. I really enjoy the clarity of watching programs with outdoor locations because it simply makes best use of the technology.

The set up required a bit of thought but plug and play should be reserved for kids toys.

The next step will be to get a better sound system to attach to this device.

Shop for a ood price but this is a winner

5 Stars Great TV
After shopping around for awhile, I believe that the Aquos Sharp was the sweet spot for me. It may be true that Sony and Samsung are slightly better, but you pay more for them and I am not sure one can tell that much of a difference in the end particularly at the 42 inch size. I think Sharp is the next best and the price through Amazon was exceptionally good. I was worried about damage from shipping, but everything shipped just fine with no damage. The TV works wonderfully. I previously read that some sites rated the sound and standard definition viewing to be average at best. I think the standard definition and sound is perfectly fine. Besides, if you want really high sound quality you should get a surround sound system anyways.

I think this television gives high value for the dollar. I highly recommend it.

4 Stars Sharp Aquos LC4285U
Excellent set. Picture is great. I had a little trouble with installation (not the fault of the set) and Sharp customer service was extremely helpful. If I have any criticism it is that the set does loose some brightness at angles.

1 Star Sharp does not honor warranty
I owned this TV for a little over a year and now it is broken. The LCD screen is cracked and Sharp claims it can only be caused by physical damage, and will not pay for the repair. We never even moved the TV once it was installed over a year ago. As a matter of fact we were in the middle of watching it when we changed the channel all of a sudden the screen had all these verticle lines appear. We also have taken it to the Sharp authorized repair shop and they have verified that there is “No evidence of physical damage”. The best part is Sharp customer service claimed to have called the repair shop and were told something different. When I called the repair shop back to ask why they told two different stories he said that Sharp customer service had NEVER called, to ask about the condition of the TV. Since it is a small repair shop (only two guys) I think they would both know. Sharp has offered to sell me another piece of crap TV for a small discount, which I have declined. Basically Sharp sells crap and lies to its customers. Buyer beware! Besides, I just replaced this piece of crap Sharp with a Sony 46″, 120Hz and a four year warranty for $1400, and I am looking for a second LCD for our bedroom, I will never buy Sharp again!

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Wow!
This TV is fantastic. Just a month before we purchased a 42″ Sharp Aquos, and as fantastic as it is, it does not even compare to this one. The picture is fantastic and the way it links to the Bluray player is cool. We are very pleased.

5 Stars Unbelievable!!!
I was blown away at the price for this tv. Adorama Camera always has unbelievable deals…The Sharp Aquos is 120 hertz refresh rate, 1080p, detachable speaker and a very classy finish – kind of a black matte around the tv. I like it much better than the smooth shiny plastic most tvs have.

4 Stars Still happy after a whole year
I purchased this TV about a year ago and watch it daily. I really enjoy the display, even in well lit areas. The matte finish was non-negotiable for me. The room I have it in has many light sources, and even though they are all visible from the dispaly, none are reflected back from the matte finish on the display. Compare that to the new Samsung’s that are extremely reflective and are best used in darker areas.

When I was deciding which display to purchase, I visited Best Buy several times to compare this and other sets. To this day, the LC52SE94U remains the best looking set on the wall, at least to me. If I had it to do over again, I’d have bought the same TV. When I win the lottery, I’ll get the bigger version.

Here’s my rundown of pro’s and con’s:

Pros:

* Matte display

* Attractive bezel

* Removable Speakers

* Lots of inputs

* 120-Hz much more pleasing to the eye than the competition

Cons:

* Lack of DVI input

* Auto Brightness feature annoying

* Stand does not swivel

If you’re mounting this to the wall, and have a single HDMI cable coming from an upconverting receiver, it’s nearly perfect. It will be interesting to see what OLED TV’s look like and how it will affect the price of existing LCD TV’s.

3 Stars great LCD bad pixels
Update #3/ BB has picked it up and I will check my account for a credit today. So far BB is perfect. Be sure to leave your TV on for 36 hours and then check a channel with a blank screen for stuck on pixels. These will only get worse folks.

Original review,

BB delivered this a few hours ago and I have it up and running without a hitch. It is as thin in places as the Samsung 850 but not over the whole cabinet. Picture is perfect. The manual doesn’t mention 120MHZ video but Demo Mode does

“You can select the image from 3 types of demo mode.

Mode 1: 120Hz Fine motion advanced with the picture.

Mode 2: 120Hz Fine motion advanced.

Mode 3: AQUOS net.”

Advanced menu says

“Fine Motion Advanced

Use Fine Motion Advanced to view fast-action video

more clearly.

On: For obtaining a clearer image.

Off: No adjustment.

Fine Motion Advanced may cause image noise. If this

occurs, turn the function “Off”.”

So I am not sure what all that means and will be testing it over the next few days to see what is up with the 120MHZ.

So far a very fine LCD with no problems. It tagged my free 21U on the HDMI inputs and allowed me to lable it as BD21U.

Stand by for more info later.

Update/the speaker terminals and external speaker bar rocks. I assume you could hook up a couple of speakers to those outputs?

Update2/ the series “”"Sharp LC-52XS1U-S”"”is the thin one and not the 94 series limited edition. I did not know this since none of the stores had the 94 series on display. I am still happy with the product but may have got the Samsung 850 if I knew that. Maybe. LOL/still a great TV.

Bad news//second day and bad pixels. At this point in time I am seeing how painful the [...] pickup/return/credit will be. Since I got a geek squad install and several free items I am wondering if that will all get credited correctly(what a mess plus they hauled off the boxes). If it does I will post the good news here.

5 Stars great TV
This is an outstanding TV. Bright clear picture, clean motion, lots of inputs. I considered the comparable Samsungs but did not like the shiny screen or frame. The picture quality was indistinguishable to my eyes in the store. I ultimately settled on Sharp due to the reports of extraordinary customer service for Sharp vs. much less satisfaction with Samsung customer service. I have not been disappointed with the Sharp so far.

Update – After nearly 6 weeks, the wall mount finally arrived. Thumbs up for Sharp, thumbs down for Abe’s of Maine.

I would have rather purchased the TV from Amazon, but they do not sell this model direct. So, I bought from Abe’s of Maine, who offered no tax, free shippping and a free wall mount. This made their price substantially less than other vendors; moreover, Abe’s was highly rated as a vendor. My experience? I cannot recommend Abe’s of Maine (actually, Abe’s of New Jersey). After I ordered the TV online, I got an e-mail to call them to discuss the order. Not surprisingly, a high pressure salesman tried to get me to upgrade everything from the mode of delivery, to the free wall mount, to an extended warranty, even to a different TV. I did upgrade the delivery as what came for free was “curbside delivery” and got a mount that was thinner (and tiltable) compared to the “free mount” that was included with the TV which was not tiltable. After about 2.5 weeks, the TV showed up. Delivery was quick and easy and the driver helped me remove the TV from the box and set it up. But the wall mount I ordered was not included, forcing me to scramble to find a solution to put the TV on temporarily. So far, I am still waiting for the wall mount, more than a week after reporting it missing.

Bottom line – This Sharp is one fine TV. Abe’s of Maine was disappointing.

product is set up and the picture is excellent. the remote dial is touchy but nothing that cannot be overcome with practice.

Amazon’s service and the delivery company were excellent also the delivery company carried the TV upstairs, unboxed it and set it up and made sure it worked before they left.

2 Stars Adequate
This unit is adequate as a second TV (in the bedroom) but it just can’t compare to my plasma unit in the den. Picture quality and sound are just fair.

5 Stars Excellent picture, great delivery service
We did a little research when switching over to “digital” TV and finally narrowed it down to the Toshiba 37AV502R at 37″. It is a perfect size for our small living room and we can see the picture clearly at over 20 feet away, also the speakers are great (since my husband has trouble hearing sometimes), we can hear everything that is going on. We love the clear, crisp picture and the vivid color. The delivery was fantastic, Amazon shipped by Pilot Freight Services and the driver came on time and was extremely courteous and professional. We love everything about our purchase and we have never been disappointed when ordering from Amazon.

4 Stars Great Value
I was looking for a good HD TV in our bedroom. I am happy with the picture quality of this TV. I got it for $650 at local store. Audio is fine. But I found it generating a pretty low humming sound when it should be quiet. Lets say you are one HDMI1 input and changed input to HDMI2 input. There are couple of seconds before the video/audio comes up on TV. This humming sound comes up during these couple of seconds. Not a deal breaker. But I came across this complaint on web about this series of Toshiba TVs.

5 Stars AWESOME~!!!!!
My wife and I went out to get a replacement TV for our living room. We were looking for the 40 inch Sharp (because I have had great luck with Sharp and have a sharp 15 lcd in the bedroom).

Best Buy didn’t have one, (even though the web said the store did), anyways they did have this Toshiba but it was a floor model, $100 off. We liked the picture and took it. The sound is awesome!!! We watch a lot of movies and well it won’t knock you off your seat, it does sound great both voices and effects! The picture is great tested on Lord of the Rings, Braveheart, Pearl Harbor, ect!!! The remote could be smaller, other than that we are totally thrilled! In the future I may get a Sony ht ct500 but right now this sounds so good I can’t justify it.

Bottom line: I would recommend it to everyone!!!!

3 Stars Color depth and sound a little off
Picture: After setting up this TV the first source I viewed was over-the-air network HD programming – specifically CBS. I noticed instantly that the color detail is not super. Skin tones look a little like “water color,” almost cartoon-like in certain situations. Reds are a little over-done as well, they seem to leap off the screen. The colors are very vibrant, but images just look a bit less realistic than on my Samsung. It isn’t as noticeable in SD sources, such as DVDs, and the best quality HD programming seems to look better too. Otherwise pictures are super sharp and clear. I am very interested to see how HD cable channels look once I get my HD receiver.

Black levels are good as long as you keep the brightness level down – I keep mine set at 54, with backlight at 86, and the picture is still very bright with nice blacks.

I find the DynaLight feature to be useless. Essentially it turns the backlight down on darker scenes to make the blacks deeper, but the result is a noticeably dimmer picture. I have never been a fan of dynamic backlighting on any TV, and the Toshiba is very slow to adjust, making it quite annoying. I shut mine off, no big deal.

Sound: Sound is not great, but not terrible. I use a stereo receiver so that isn’t a problem. The variable audio output allows you to control the volume through your TV even when a receiver is connected.

I have never noticed the buzzing sound that others mention.

Stand: The stand is more than adequate for most situations. My parents have a 26″ Toshiba and it uses the same size stand, so it may be a bit small. However, it would take quite a bit of force to tip the TV over. I’m not worried.

Other features: The theater-wide settings are useful for many situations, especially expanding SD sources without distorting the center of the picture. As noted above the DynaLight feature is really useless, but this goes for any brand with dynamic backlight. Just turn it off.

The best advice is to look at this TV in person with an HD source connected. For the price it is a great deal on a name-brand device. In many ways it out-performs the cheaper brands. In a few categories, however, it falls behind.

4 Stars Good value for a 26 inch LCD
Item was delivered promply and worked fine out of the box. I have no problem with the HDMI connections, sound or picture. Blacks are not as deep as a Sony, otherwise this unit works fine for the price.

3 Stars A Good TV Value, with great sound, easy to use controls and superb remote
Note: I purchased this 26″ LCD TV one week ago. As I am waiting for the cable company to upgrade my service, this set is simply receiving a standard cable signal without benefit of a converter box or High Def signal. Many LCD owners consider the signal source a major factor in image quality — so I want to be clear on this point at the outset. Also, my DVD player is more than 5 years old and does not upconvert.

PROS:

Easy to install base pedestal. Four screws (provided) and a phillips head screwdriver are all that’s needed. Instructions were clear and straight forward. Hooking up the coax cable took only a minute.

Superb remote control. Layout is intelligent and intuitive — a pleasure to use. Glows in the dark (bright!) Sleep timer button is well placed on the upper corner and easy to access without even looking.

Picture and sound set-up controls are very easy to understand. Owners manual instruction very clear and straightforward.

Sound is excellent. Very good quality and volume. Treble, Bass, and Balance controls are easy to use if you choose. For it’s size and likely application — a bedroom or a small den — the sound is really quite good. Forward facing speakers — not down firing as many LCD sets are.

Picture is fair to good. Live TV broadcasts such as news programs and talk shows appear brighter and with better, cleaner colors than movies — especially films with dark scenes. DVD programs appear much better. (Please note again the standard coax cable signal source I am presently receiving)

2 HDMI inputs and multiple others. More than enough for most applications.

CONS:

Picture not as sharp as I would like, especially broadcast TV as opposed to DVD (standard DVD). Also, I am noticing scenes go dark or light for no apparent reason. This could be due to some a setting which may be improperly set .. but I’ve tried it both ways and cannot see a difference.

One other frustrating sceanrio for example: multiple camera shows. For example, a news program where you have an anchor in the studio and a reporter in the field. One person looks pretty good but the field reporter might look a bit green or orange. Other sets even this out, the Toshiba does not.

Conclusion:

For the money, this is probably the best value on a 26″ LCD TV on the market today. Prices under $349 are out there. If you are an “average” TV viewer, you may find this set to be just the ticket for your bedroom. But, if you have a critical eye, you may find the tuner or signal processing unit on this set a bit under par compared to Sony and Samsung — perhaps more sophisticated technology but which also carry price tags of $100 and more higher.

Once I get a better cable signal, I may amend this review. Indeed, I will decide whether I am keeping the Toshiba or spending the extra money for the Samsung 26″. So please “stay tuned”.

1 Star Dim picture and sound
Picture is dim and cannot be compare to my Panasonic plasma, the max sound volume is very low and bad quality, the remote control is user unfriendly and cheap construction also no front controls, this TV looks it was made in a China garage instead of a factory. Do not bother to buy it.

4 Stars great for the price, size
This Toshiba set has stunning color, far better black, the best picture I’ve seen in a 26″ or smaller set had a decent price. I would like to see more intuitive menu item names, and to not have to adjust the color from channel to channel, program to program. It is also slow to turn on. But when set properly an absolutely stunning picture.

5 Stars great little tv
Use in kitchen area and is perfect for small to medium spaces. Excellent picture quality. Great purchase experience from Amazon.com.

5 Stars Great Buy
Great picture and price for size. Was easy to set up the blu ray, sat, vcr/dvd with manyt inputs for video games. Came pretty quick too.

5 Stars Great buy!
I purchased this fabulous TV before I could really use it. There was no problem holding the unit for a few weeks until I could prepare the place for it. Delivery was fabulous (a few minutes later than the scheduled 4 hour window). They unpacked the TV, mounted it on my display unit (not the wall), made sure that it worked properly, cleaned up and removed the packaging all for no additional cost. The TV is fabulous, but the entire purchase and delivery procedure was delightful.

5 Stars great product
The picture is awesome. Delivery day though, only one guy was on tap, so I had to help out. No big deal. I just thought though that you’d have at least a couple of guys available to give the best customer service.

5 Stars Best Value 58″ Plasma
The TV is fantastic. We’ve had it for a month now and have had no problems. The picture quality is great and you have a ton of options for configuring the image to your liking (factory settings were terrible). The sound, though clearly nowhere near the quality of a home theater system, are actually pretty good for a TV. The unit looks great as well. For those of you concerned about the Touch of Color, it’s so subtle that I don’t notice it — it looks like it has a beautiful piano-black frame. I was most concerned about how effective the anti-reflective screen was at dealing with glare as we have a lot of ambient light in the room (this was an issue with our old CRT). I’m happy to say glare is no problem with this plasma during the day or at night. Keep in mind, this is a HEAVY TV. Make sure you have at least two strong people who are comfortable lifting heavy/bulky items when moving it around.

1 Star Good Price but Defective Piece
